Who we are ....
Singcopation is a small group of 12-16 singers (SATB) who meet together every 4-6 weeks on a Saturday or Sunday to sing a cappella jazz classics, blues, African and gospel music. Based in Madeley, North Staffordshire, members travel from all over the region to meet up and spend a day exploring the voice and tackling different styles of arrangements.
We have been working on pieces from "The Memory of All That" by Alan Simmons and recorded the efforts of our first workshop session - click the link opposite to listen to "The Way We Were " - recorded at our very first session after 45 minutes of rehearsal! We have improved considerably since that recording! We have also explored 1950's close harmony, and are currently working on pieces made popular by Manhattan Transfer and the Kings Singers.
