About Simply Allsorts
Simply Allsorts was formed in April 2010 as the result of a workshop which attracted 20 people initially. Over the years we have grown in number to around 75 members and our repertoire has grown too. We now sing in three or four parts and enjoy a wide range of music although we do not tackle any religious choral works - there are other choirs in the area who do this excellently. Instead we challenge ourselves with syncopated rhythms and close harmonies which allows us to explore jazz and swing, pop classics, show songs and a wide variety of music styles. There are no auditions and it is not essential to be able to read music as voice part recordings are provided for most songs. However if you are new to singing or returning to a choir after a very long break you may find this choir a little daunting to begin with, and there are other options to help you get started (see the Other Choir Options page)
