About Chris Hale
Chris Hale is a trained grade 8 singer and choral conductor who has worked with community choirs for nearly 30 years and sung with choral groups and societies for more than 45 years. She founded the Skelldale Singers in Ripon, North Yorks in 1995 and built the group up from an evening class of 11 people to a choir of 78. She was Choral Director of Boroughbridge Community Choir from 2000 to 2009 and on moving to the North Staffs/Cheshire area, set up community choirs in Madeley, Weston and Nantwich. Four of these are still going strong and continue to grow and develop. In addition she conducts the Hough & District WI Choir, and runs vocal and choral development workshops throughout the year.
Chris believes that everyone can sing, providing there are no medical issues, and is committed to bringing out the best in her singers.
She can provide private voice tuition or just do a vocal assessment so that you can find out the range of your voice and learn how to use it effectively.
She has studied choral conducting to an advanced level with the national organisation Sing for Pleasure, and teaches community choirs and conducting students at their summer schools. She is also a Singing Leader for HF Activity and Leisure Holidays and works with Geraldine Luckhurst as part of a cabaret duo, G and C.
