Non-singers:-

You have probably been told by teachers, family or friends that you are tone deaf.

You may have been told to mime in the school choir,

You might be comparing yourself with someone else you know who you think has a good voice.

You are probably afraid to sing out at church or at a sing along event in the pub or at a party......

You are just afraid to use your voice for singing.

In reality, providing there are no medical issues such as hearing loss, damaged vocal chords etc, the chances are that you just dont know how to access your singing voice.

What you can do:

You can book a private voice assessment with Chris Hale to find out what your voice can do

You can attend one of the "Singing for Non-Singers" workshops which are held from time to time throughout the year.

You might feel comfortable coming along to a Simple Harmony informal performance to see what we do - we often include audience participation which is a good way of finding out how we work, and how learning can be fun.

All of the above are non-threatening experiences - you are never asked to sing alone in a choir situation. The only time you would need to try singing on your own is with Chris in a private assessment.

Fred Astaire "can't sing, can't dance, balding ..... can act a little......"

Shakira - banned from the school choir and her friends said she sounded like a goat ....
